The uniqueness of the Naftalan Special Hospital in Ivanić-Grad as a health tourism destination lies precisely in its use of saline thermal water and medicinal oil – naftalan. This naftalan site is the only one of its kind in Europe, and the second one recorded world-wide. Ever since 1989, we have been successfully performing treatments that are not available anywhere else in this form.
Naftalan, mineral oil obtained by distillation of naphthenic oil, is considered a natural healing agent. It contains steranes – compounds similar to steroid hormones and provitamin D – endowing it with exceptional anti-inflammatory and desensitizing properties.
